A bag is not a cake stabilizer
A roomy bag does not replace a correctly fitted cake box and board. Review the carton first, then the bag around it.
Kraft bakery carry bags hold boxed desserts, wrapped pastries and takeaway orders in a branded carry format. Begin with the packed bakery items and counter-to-customer handling, then choose the bag base, opening, paper handle and artwork.

A pastry carton needs a stable base and enough opening space to slide in level. Several wrapped bakery items may need a different bag shape. Identify whether the food is already packaged: the paper bag around a closed cake box and a bag that directly touches food have different material briefs. The image shows a carry bag with a separate small carton.
Record the largest carton exterior, including a carry tab or raised lid, and the total filled weight. If cartons are stacked, specify the stack height and how staff will insert them. Use width × height × gusset for the bag and review the opening with the actual packed order. Tell us whether the items enter the bag warm, chilled or at room conditions.
| Decision | Starting direction | Check before approval |
|---|---|---|
| Paper direction | Brown kraft for a natural appearance, or white kraft for a lighter print base. | Review the artwork on the selected paper, not just a white-screen mockup. |
| Handle format | Twisted, flat paper or a separately reviewed carry opening. | State the preferred format; the illustrated bag shows paper loop handles, not a die-cut grip. |
| Base width | A base developed around the carton or wrapped order. | Check whether the carton stays level during packing and carrying. |
| Food and moisture conditions | Specify direct contact, wrapped contents and the intended packing conditions. | Identify liner or documentation needs before agreeing the paper construction. |

A bakery illustration or kraft appearance does not establish grease, moisture or food-contact performance. Name the required use and evidence in the brief.
The bag size, paper, handle construction, ink coverage and quantity determine the base scope. Special liners, support cards, additional print versions and packing requirements must be quoted explicitly. Include the inner bakery carton only if you want a coordinated bag-and-box quotation.
Start with a closed, filled bakery carton and its complete exterior. A stable base is useful only if the carton can enter through the bag opening without excessive tilt. If staff use the bag for several pastry formats, compare the widest carton and the smallest typical order separately.
Place and remove the filled carton through the normal opening without forcing its sides.
Allow separately for an integrated carton handle or a folded bag top.
Identify whether the bag is outer carry packaging or touches unwrapped food; specify the latter use separately.
Provide the cake-box exterior and filled weight. The bag must be reviewed around that box, including its opening and any projecting handle.
Specify the food and intended contact, storage and packing conditions first. Material and documentation must be agreed for that use rather than assumed from the bag image.
Ask for the die-cut format in the inquiry. It is a different grip construction from the illustrated paper handles and needs its own layout and sample review.
Include the carton size, product fit and required quantity with the bag brief. We confirm which packaging components are included in the quotation.
The outer carry role does not establish a direct food-contact construction. Describe any proposed unwrapped food, contact conditions and storage requirements before reviewing a different bag specification.
